In-District Action

Following on the momentum of our Beverly and Salem event with 160+ attendees standing up to demand statewide action on housing, we're holding an action with Senator Crighton, Rep. Capano, Rep. Cahill, and Rep. Armini this Tuesday the 26th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church in Lynn (4 Adams St. Ext.) to expand the pressure to as many legislators as possible in advance of the key budget vote. It's simple: The more ECCO community members who come, the more our elected officials will feel accountable! All ECCO members are welcome, and especially those from the legislators' districts-- Lynn, Swampscott, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Saugus, and Nahant.

Housing Legislative Action for Lynn, Swampscott, and Surrounding Areas

When: Tuesday, March 26th, 6:30-8:00 PM

Where: Zion Baptist Church (4 Adams Street Ext.)

Hold your elected officials accountable to create and expand access to affordable housing! Working together with our allies at Neighbor 2 Neighbor and Lynn United for Change, we'll share stories from directly impacted community members and ask our legislators to commit to taking urgently needed action on housing: backing $1.6 billion in funding for state-owned public housing, making sure that state-subsidized "affordable housing" is truly affordable, establishing rent control, ensuring access to housing for returning citizens, and more. Please pass this along to your communities-- it's sure to be a powerful event! You can register at bit.ly/essexhousingjustice.

Feel free to reach out to our organizers Colette (colette@eccoaction.org) and Allen (allen@eccoaction.org) with any questions at all. We're excited to see you there!

Pathway To Citizenship PRESS CONFERENCE

Join us for a media action and ritual to call on our legislators to create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented essential workers, as part of the forthcoming COVID-19 relief package likely to pass soon in Congress.  Why?  Immigrant essential workers have made huge sacrifices to care for our families during COVID.  Yet, despite the risks that they took and the hours they spent caring for our communities, they are still treated like outsiders and are forced to live in the shadows.  Join us to declare to our elected leaders that it is time that immigrant essential workers are honored as essential in our communities, by repaying us with the dignity of a pathway toward citizenship.

The press conference will take place in-person, and will also be broadcast via zoom.  If you plan to join in person, please make sure to bring a mask and plan to practice social distancing.
